From boycott to ambassador: Mizkif chose Stake instead of the war on gambling

American streamer Matthew "Mizkif" Rinaudo, who has over 2.2 million followers on Twitch, has officially become an ambassador for online casino Stake. The decision caused a strong reaction, because just three years ago he was among the main opponents of gambling content and even threatened to boycott Twitch. Conflict with Twitch in 2022 Three years ago, Mizkif, along with other major bloggers, opposed gambling broadcasts on Twitch. The campaign under the hashtag #TwitchStopGambling went viral, and the streamer himself then spoke harshly: "Gambling should be 100% banned on Twitch, and frankly, to hell with Twitch, which allowed it in the first place." He proposed boycotting the platform during the Christmas season, which could hurt Twitch's revenue due to a drop in advertising. Abrupt change of position Today, everything has changed: Mizkif announced a partnership with Stake and even added a mention of the casino to the Instagram header, where he has 351 thousand followers. He himself explained the transition simply: now he does not need to "chase paid subscriptions." At the same time, he again found a reason to criticize Twitch, saying that now he is annoyed by the platform's advertising rules. It is noteworthy that back in the summer of 2025, he spoke unflatteringly about streamers who left for Kick, arguing that this was a personal negative experience with one of the founders. Community reaction Some believe that a contract with such a large brand can strengthen Mizkif's position and give it stability. Others perceived the decision as a betrayal of their own words. On Reddit, a popular comment reads: "Money was more important than ethics" - and gained more than 2.3 thousand upvotes.
